Introduction: bridging generational gaps

I'm not even exactly sure how this all came to be, but sometime last year, maybe on our weekend hike at Dolly Sods, WV, my brothers and I were talking about future goals and vision and how to use what we have been blessed with to benefit others. this conversation grew into thoughts on community housing and farming, connections between a city community and a farming one working together (two brothers and I live in the city of Pittsburgh). as we continued this conversation beyond ourselves I believe it then triggered conversation with the extended family, the Taylors, and we realized that we had similar longing of our hearts with what had been given to us. the Taylors and Rooke's share family land estimating around 100 acres south east of Pittsburgh, PA. our parents and other family members have built two houses and have two trailers on the Land. also on the land is the old spring house, dating back 150 years. this land was inherited to the Taylors some 40 years ago, and from the beginning they felt that God wanted them to use it for His ministry, how to do so has been the longer and harder conversation and action. there has been several attempts at farming and some other projects the Taylors do as well. so as we, the younger generation, were given this new spark of enthusiasm to make the land productive for such goals we figured we'd jump into organizing work teams to fix up the spring house to use as a retreat center and then from there see what other project might grow from the collective family work. I am apart of leadership at Hot Metal bridge Faith Community and there are a lot of people a share in community with that are excited to be apart of what is being started. I'm really excited to see what grows and springs out of this house, this vision, and this cooperation. the Lord is good and has blessed us so much, may we continue to learn what it means to bless others.
